How ranking works

We designed the ranking system on MusicHype to be transparent and fair.

Your first time ranking

The very first time you rank any competition entries we show you all six entries.

Cooldown

• We've put in a cooldown period, so you rest between rankings
• You just have to wait three hours to rank again and clear your design pallette.

Ranking post cooldown

• On your new ranking page we automatically leave your #1 ranked entry up top.
• The other five entries are randomly positioned.
• By randomly positioning those five entries we make it even and fair.
• You can keep your #1 pick or replace it - easy!
• Then move the other five entries around, with your most preferred near the top and your least preferred at the bottom.
• Over time, our algorithm will show the most preferred entries rise to the top - excellent!
