Meet our remix competition winners!

Here's a bit of info on the community-ranked winners of our remix competition:

1. The Enright House - C?Y!D?N! (Enright House Remix)

A trancy throwback to early 90’s euro-rave, mediated by piles of exuberance, some beautiful chord progressions, & a smitten of Enright House aesthetics!

2. Syncdrifters - C?Y!D?N! remixed by Syncdrifters

Where are you from and what's the music scene like there?
We just started this project and at the moment it is not connected with polish music scene. The idea behind this project is to find interesting and independent artist all over the world. We think that music scene in Poland is not very friendly for alternative sounds, however we are always open for cooperation with polish artists.

How long have you been performing music? Tell us a bit about your musical history.
We met in person while working on my last band, FunkLab which played funk rock. After the band split in January this year we started making remixes and we are about to start working on our own stuff. Pawel: I'm actually a bassist and I have played really various stuff from jazz and funk to rock. Recently I have recorded bass lines for a hip hop artist from Poland, Medium and cooperated with a guitarist and producer from London, Marius Ptas a.k.a. Fresh. Dominik: I play guitar a little but I don't think about myself as a guitarist. I'm more like an evil scientist... I love synthesizers and sound design. I have been playing in many projects ranging from street theatre of fire dancers to really extreme electronic metal bands. Besides syncdrifters I play funk at home.

What are your musical influences?
Any music actually. It would be impossible to mention all as it spreads from classical music to most modern club sounds. At the moment we are surely influenced by french electro and as always good old funk. :)

Name your top five albums of the last decade.
Oh man, how we hate such questions... It was actually a pretty good decade and there were much more than 5 albums worth mentioning. Way too many to fit in this short questionnaire. And thanks to the internet there are so many great artists who publish in the web that talking only about albums doesn't seem to be such a great idea.

Best concert(s) you ever attended?
Dominik is a total nerd and it is impossible to make him go to any gig at all. He would have to take all his synths with him. As for me I have been on so many great concerts so I'm only going to mention the last one after which I was really stunned. It was Calvin Harris on Warsaw Orange Festival.
