The Mint Chicks

Originally from Auckland, New Zealand, The Mint Chicks have achieved something rare for a rock band - massive popularity without losing their cult status amongst music fans.

From their punk rock beginnings, The Mint Chicks were something special from their very first EP, 2003's Octagon Octagon Octagon. Another EP and three hugely successful albums later, the band continue to go from strength to strength, with their second album, Crazy? Yes! Dumb? No! recently being voted best New Zealand album of the decade by local magazine Real Groove (with the title track also winning the top slot for NZ single of the decade).

Their live shows never disappoint, with their psychedelic Motown punk-rock sound continuing to win fans. The Mint Chicks currently split their time between Portland, Oregon and their hometown of Auckland, and the release of their Bad Buzz EP in 2010 via MusicHype proved that the bands popularity is showing no signs of letting up.
